The legal issues, implications and liabilities arising from ADAS and future Autonomous Vehicles

This conference will focus exclusively on the differing legal issues brought about by different levels of autonomy. There are still no universal rules or regulations in which autonomous vehicles can operate, and the potential legal issues surrounding autonomous vehicles are undefined. Meanwhile recent safety incidents involving ADAS systems continue to place the technology under intense legal scrutiny.

Topics under discussion include:

  • Real-world ADAS/accident investigation case studies
  • Product liability – stages of litigation – class actions, etc
  • Insurance and criminal liability
  • How legislators’ policies will provide the context for legal and liability discussions
  • Legal issues surrounding cyber security and privacy
  • Legal & liability issues raised by v2v and v2x technologies
  • Defining the legal guidelines, rules and regulations for autonomous vehicles
  • Risk assessments required for real-world AV trials
